Eppington was a new-build over 15 years ago and Bedeckers Interiors has been involved from the beginning. Rooms have seen several transformations as the family has grown and their tastes have changed. It’s an ongoing fun adventure and I enjoy each project. One of my favorites was the daughter’s room. I designed the nursery before she was born. Its black, white and hot pink color palette had longevity. But when she turned 10 it was time for a change. She chose the purple paints for her walls. When I arrived for the design consultation, her mom was running late. Instead of waiting, we jumped right into the fabric options I had chosen. I had to giggle when she said, “You know, I’ve had pink (the first couple fabrics I showed her had pink with purple) and I’m looking for something different.” She fell in love with a very sophisticated purple and gray printed linen fabric designed by Trina Turk. It became the base of the room’s design in the window treatment and bedding. All the other fabrics and trimmings were chosen to compliment. We added a custom loveseat, a fancy chandelier, a ribbon memory board, and a mirrored starburst to complete the room and take her through her teens.
